Hi guys my name is Ron Bond. You can call me Bondo. I built this channel to share my knowledge of construction. I have 35 years experience in the residential construction industry. I do a lot of videos on every aspect of doing concrete work. We pour floors do stamped concrete build house and garage foundations with Nudura ICF blocks. We also do most of our own excavation work. I have a Kubota back hoe Yanmar mini excavator and a mini Bobcat track loader as well as a tracked concrete buggy. Through the years I have developed many time saving tips and tricks that I would like to share with you. I live in Upstate New York so we don't do concrete in the winter much. During the winter I'm making videos on fixing up the houses that I buy to restore. I usually fix up a house every two years and then rent it out or sell it. I am an insulation junkie so I like making videos to teach people how to make their house more energy efficient.
using a power trowel to help with a broom finish.
We poured a big concrete apron on this pole barn. The customer wanted a broom finish and we used a power trowel and knee sliders to prepare the surface for the broom.

ONE PROBLEM AFTER ANOTHER ON A 5000 SQ. FOOTER!!!!

It started from the beginning when the grade was wrong then I was short handed by 2 guys. Trucks were early ,and to top it off it rained that day. I made some quick decisions on this one. How did I do?
How to make your own concrete. NOT QUICKCRETE!!!!
Переглядів 22 тис.14 днів тому
We are building a monolithic slab for a new garage build. We had to lay 2 courses of blocks on top of the slab. We made our own concrete with our concrete mixer for the core fill. We find that quickcrete is not a good concrete mix for our harsh New York weather. It never seems to hold up as good as if you make your own concrete.
Load bearing concrete slab
Переглядів 15 тис.21 день тому
On this job the customer wanted to put a roof system over our concrete slab so we thickened up the edges and reinforced them with rebar so he could land his load bearing posts on the outside anywhere he needed to to support the roof. He was quite happy with how it turned out.
What does leave the concrete FUZZY MEAN?

We learned a tough lesson while pouring this big basement floor.
Переглядів 17 тис.Місяць тому
We were hired to pour this big basement floor. The house was set on top so we had many challenges to get the concrete in there and even more problems with heat and ventalation when we got into finishing the floor. 2 of the guys got sick from bad ventilation and excessive heat. We all learned something that day and that is why we pour the floors before the house is set on it.
Weird insulation detail? Or just a smart idea?

We poured this garage floor for a repeat customer and they spray foamed under the floor and inside the concrete blocks. I never seen anyone spray foam the cells of the blocks like that but what a good idea. They also spray foamed the floor inside ther crawl space instead of pouring a concrete floor saving a bunch of money.
Concrete prep with a mini skid steer!!

I am trying out a Wacker SM 100 mini skid steer /Dingo before I get my Wacker SM 120. I hope this thing will be worth the money and fit into our concrete business.
You never seen this finish before !!

We poured out an exterior concrete slab for some friends and they wanted it to be a totally non slip surface but they did not want it to be broomed. We did this swirl mag finish as we named it. We did this same finish on a car wash before and it keeps the surface of the concrete open so it will handle the freeze thaw cycles we have here in Central New York State. It also is a surface that is sa...

Does the wire stay up when pulled?

I finally show some proof to end the wire mesh debate!! When we pour concrete and pull the wire mesh up and then walk all over it does it stay where we want it?
PAY CLOSE ATTENTION OR FOUNDATION WILL FAIL !!!

Probably the most important part of any well built foundation and the easiest to mess up. You must pay attention to these details in this video.
SUPER FAST!! We had to tear out this concrete and replace it !!

We had to tear out this 20X20 garage floor and replace it. We pretty much did it by hand with a small jack hammer this could be rented if You wanted to do this yourself but Big Biscuit destroyed this floor and we made short work out of it.

Love the videos and the job you do I hope your not a DEMOCRAT. The Governor
Don't worry about that LMAO
Honestly? As a simple home owner here, I ALSO liked the idea of using a groover go mark the square boxes, like the owner wanted to. IDK why you are so stubborn and decide for these people what will “look better”…. Theyre paying u, they will look at it for years not you. Just do what they want. Sheesh.
that bill lmao
Another nice job Bondo.
You should've followed the instructions given to you by your customer.. would've saved you all that trouble
Hey he just had to go and do the P&P before he gets into the truck.
That's a man's apron!
The easiest and fastest way of earning trust is to be honest to people and stand by your set of values. Well done Bondo
Too busy is a good problem to have. It means you do good work and time to give yourself a raise .
It is true how AMERICANS FORGET IN SIX MONTHS... I HOPE THAT AHOLE DONT WIN IF HE DOES THIS COUNTRY IS FU_K. UP. HE ALLMOST GOT RID OF MY SHOT THAT KEEPS ME WALKING. 😢
Very nice job. Looks fabulous!

We have to a wet concrete because of the heat and humidity in the Philippines I use a 6000 psi mix wet
That’s a big apron! Looks like you were enduring a May fly attack! 👍
Bondo and Crew what’s up hope all is well🤙🔥🇺🇸
Salute to the real concrete guys

My man, i was on your channel watching reruns 😂
Quality work brother.👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🐶
Is that pvc drain ok to drive over?
I live in Seneca county and it’s $230 a yard right now. Any cheaper up there?
If it was your floor you can do whatever you want, however he is paying you to cut you should have cut.
Great videos! Thanks
Would this foam interfere with the installation of a French drain in the future?
Ever try a vibratory for those small jobs? I use one to cast cylinders. Works great
Looks nice. I've got to pour my driveway. 144 yards and most of the way it will be two 2'-6" ribbons. I figure 16 trucks (9-yard trucks). I'll get a buddy to help me and pour two trucks at a time.
Theres is three guarantees in comcrete work. It will get hard. , no one will steel it, and it will absoluetly crack Any one that says there concrete work does not shrink crack is a liar
I love this channel but it’s painful watching concrete being poured around and touching the wood posts.
Man this was awesome. As an office jockey you have no idea how much I envy you and your skills.
Use wax paper ! No sticking

Looks good...
What about antifreeze? Obviously this seems to be the best and cheapest way to do this Ive seen! Nice work
Great video and appreciate all you do. I am trying to learn some tips and tricks. In regards to the wire mesh, It sounds like you are trying to lift it up so that I assume would be somewhere near the middle of the concrete as you pour. How do you keep it from getting pushed back down to the bottom as you walk on it during the leveling and screeding part?
I’d put fiber and wire mesh both. They each serve different purposes.
like the black belt Bob cat.
wwwoooo 50 x 100.beautiful job cowboys.thanks for turning shit into ice cream.blessing to all🙏💎🌴🍾🇹🇹
do you do work in other states?????
Looks fast… but I’m thinking ICF is better if you do it Bondo.
Great videos. Thanks
Nice work brother.👍🏻🇺🇸🐶
Nice, thank you.
Great videos. Thanks
Thanks. Great videos
Great videos. Thanks
Am I the only one thinking that concrete was too wet?
What’s this plastic sheet called that is under the mesh ?
Is this 5.5” of concrete over the insulation tubes ?
You seem very knowledgeable and i think it looks great. There's always that " one " customer . Keep up the great work team..🇺🇲🙏
The wet screed looks pretty efficient. The last time I had concrete poured, they drove rebar every so many feet and set the top of the rebar to the level of the concrete with the laser. Then when they passed that spot, they would drive the rebar down below the surface and then finish that spot.
